What does the $499 onboarding fee cover?
It covers your permanent publisher account, unlimited dataset hosting, AI-powered search indexing for all your documents, REST API and MCP server distribution, the embeddable chat widget, and your analytics dashboard. There are no monthly fees after that.
Who sets the per-query price?
You do. As an IP holder, you set your own rates for each dataset — separately for retrieval queries, AI-generated answers, and MCP tool calls. You can change them at any time.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect on a rolling basis. As consumers query your datasets, 70% of each charge is accumulated and paid out to your connected bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule.
Is there a minimum query price?
Stripe requires a minimum transaction of $0.50 USD. We recommend setting per-query rates that make sense for your content's value — most publishers on Embeden set rates between $0.01 and $0.10 per query.
Do developers need a credit card to sign up?
No. Developers access the marketplace and query datasets for free at signup. They only need to add a payment method when they start making paid API calls.
Can I publish multiple datasets?
Yes. The $499 onboarding fee covers your publisher account, which lets you publish unlimited datasets. Each dataset can have its own pricing.
